Things You Should Do Before Birthday Party Starts

OK, are you prepared for your child?s birthday party? If you are like many parents, they don?t even know if they are prepared for the party.

This article will help you prepare your party.

Being prepared for your child?s birthday party is important. The best way you can be sure to be prepared is to start planning early and stick to your plan. Your child can help you with your plans but don?t plan on them being much help. The party is too exciting for a child to stay focused.

Four hours before the birthday party starts On the day of the party you will want to make sure that the house is prepared. Start decorating 4 or 5 hours before the party starts. Know where are the supplies for your games and crafts and keep them properly. Make sure you have enough drinks and other snacks to go along with your birthday cake. Set up a few extra places just in case more guests show up. You should check the list and check who hasn?t RSVP yet and if you have their number to call and see if they are able to show up. Not only the more the merrier but you will want to be prepared for the bigger crowd.

3 hours before the birthday party starts Prepare the tables with napkins, glasses and spoons/forks. The plates can be set in a stack near the birthday cake so they are available easily when you are serving the cake. You may want to make place cards if you want assigned seats . These can include party favors that the children can take home. If you have any last minute dishes you need to prepare now is the time to make sure they are ready.

Two hours before the birthday party starts It is time to wash up and get prepared for the birthday party. By this time you already have the the games and decorations set up. The birthday cake is ready and food is prepared. You need to dress your childfor the party.

I recommend that you add a couple of balloons outside your house so that it makes it easier for your guests to find your place. I know of parents who actually tie balloons from the main road all the way to their house because their house is a distance off the main road.

Do have a gifts table near the door so that when your child receives the gift he/she can put it on the table. This same table can also serve as a place to put your party favors so that when the guests leave they can take them home.

One hour before the birthday party starts Dress the birthday child if you have not done it. You should have an activity area set up so you can start the party as soon as guests show up. The first activity should be a quiet activity to keep everyone?s attention while keeping the guests together in one area. Activities like face painting & tattoos are recommended.

You may need to assign someone the phone as well, especially if your guests find it hard to find your home.

Let the fun begin!
